Jim Bahne and his dad Robert Bahne opened Valley Motors Company in Englewood, Colorado in 1978 dedicated to high line European vehicles. Over the years, the dealership has found their true destiny was to become a Mercedes Benz specialist and that is exactly where the dealership is today. Once in a while a vehicle of another make may appear on the lot, but that is the exception rather than the rule.
 
The success of Valley Motors Company has been due to the dedication and integrity of the owner, Jim Bahne. All you need to do is to walk into their showroom and you will immediately recognize that you are doing business with a dealer that cares. The inventory, the showroom and the offices are spotless. The dealership says “welcome”.
 
Jim was born in Denver, Colorado in 1946, attended George Washington High School, and graduated from the University of Colorado. He married Zan in August of 1968, they now have three grown children.
 
Jim got into the automobile business by going to work at a Chevrolet dealership. He was at George Irwin Chevrolet from 1969 to 1977 working his way up from Salesman to Finance Manager and finally to General Manager. When Valley Motors was built in 1978, Jim and his dad designed and built their own showroom, offices, and service department. The idea was to make the dealership like a mini-new car store. Twenty four years later, this dealership is in the same location and has established an excellent reputation with their customers, their community, and with the industry.
 
Valley Motors Company has been a member of CIADA since it began in 1978. Jim has served the Association in every position on the Board of Directors and was President of the Association two years in a row.
 
In 1989 Jim was nominated for the position of Secretary of NIADA. He won that elections and went on to serve on the NIADA Executive Committee in the capacity of Regional Vice President (2 years) and Vice President at Large (2 years).
 
Jim Bahne continues to serve on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association, rarely missing a Board function, and is a representative of CIADA on the NIADA Board of Directors.
 
Bahne was appointed, by the Governor Richard D. Lamm to serve on the Colorado Dealer Licensing Board from 1983 to 1986. He was elected to the position of Vice President of that Board.
